UNLOADING, AND ON-STREET PARKING
SOUTH SOMERSET ORDER 2012
(AMENDMENT NO.28) ORDER 2023
Notice is hereby given that the Somerset County Council proposes to make the above
Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 45, 46, 49, 53, and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Act of 1984’) as amended; and
the Traffic Management Act 2004, (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Act of 2004’) as amended,
and all other enabling powers.
The effect will result in changes to the parking and waiting restrictions in the following
locations:
Somerton: St Cleers, Wheeler Barton
Ilminster: Whaites Drive, Winterhay Lane
Yeovil: Westland Road, Beer Street, Oxford Road, Babylon View, Milford Road, Netherton
Road, Glenthorne Avenue, Horsey Lane, Berkeley Road
Crewkerne: Barn Street, Lyewater
Norton Sub Hamdon: Higher Street, Great Street, New Road
Martock: Church Street
Wincanton: Church Street
Templecombe: Bowden Road, Westcombe, A357 High Street
Ilchester: Almshouse Lane
Mudford: A359 Main Street, Hillview
Chard: A30 Fore Street
Ansford: A371 Station Road

Persons wishing to object to these proposals may do so by sending their representations
in writing to the Area Traffic Engineer, quoting reference no: KT26102022, at
[email protected] stating the reasons for their objections, and received no later
than 21 days from the publication date of this notice.
Under the provisions of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, any letters
of representation that are received, may be open to inspection by members of the public.

STATEMENT OF REASONS FOR PROPOSING TO MAKE THE ORDER
To avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for
preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising, or to preserve or improve amenities
of the area through which the roads run.
