Flood Update from our Volunteer Deputy Flood Co-Ordinator, Monday 6th January 2025 9.05am
Overnight rain has caused rivers and streams to rise and increased surface water on roads.
The A356 to Crewkerne is likely to have increased surface water and the river level there is rising.
The River level at Gawbridge is rising with the road from Gawbridge to East Lambrook at Hawthorne Hill impassable. There is a road diversion in place for works between Coat and Gawbridge. Alternative routes to Kingsbury Episcopi will be necessary.
The South Petherton road has flooded at the Chicken Farm and between Parrett Works and South Petherton. Care required the rising is rising at Parrett works.
Stoke Road has extensive surface water, care required. The stream beside Stoke Road is high but doesn’t appear to be rising further.
