Martock Services Team
Our unique Services Team is a dedicated group of 3 coordinators employed by the Parish Council and supported by their teams of volunteers to meet the needs of the community by providing a localised social care support. It was born out of the Our Place Project which was a central government-funded project back in 2014, and was found to be so valuable and valued, that the Parish took on the funding of this to continue to be able to offer this level of support to its residence. The Aim of the project was, and continues to be:
Our project aim
To improve the health, wellbeing, skills, financial security and quality of life of the people in our project area and reduce their dependency on health, social, welfare and other services by:
- providing local support to better understand needs, increase self-reliance and coordinate the provision of services in the most efficient and effective manner
- improving access to services, supplemented by targeted local commissioning and local volunteer support
- tackling loneliness and social isolation (and therefore reducing their health and social impact)
- improving employment opportunities and prospects
