Bio | Although I’ll never be a Martock Bean I have lived here now for 36 years, moving from London with a toddler and new baby when my husband got a job at Yeovil Hospital
I’ve always been involved in village activities, having been on Martock Primary PTA (2 years as Chair when we raised the funds for converting the kitchens into the Reception classrooms), the Scout Hall committee. I am currently on Martock & South Petherton PPG and the Scout Hall committee again. I’m a member of Langport & Somerton Rotary Club and when President 4 years ago secured funding for the food bank and Martock Youth Parish Council. I like to support projects to improve the village while making sure they are the best use for money (it is our money after all). I don’t believe personal politics have a place on a local council and I don’t have any personal agenda or desire to influence decisions in one way or another. I will always vote for what I think is right and if that vote goes the other way – well, that’s how democracy works. I support all projects which help tackle loneliness – in all ages – having helped to set up a Community Shed in Langport. I would like to see a Repair Cafe in Martock. |
Occupation | Retired – but busy |
Hobbies | Rotary, tap dancing, line dancing, family tree research, handcrafts, vegetable growing. |
