Flood Updates

Monitoring Information 7.30am, 02.01.24.

Chiselborough ​- Current level in Flood 2.06m steady. Floods at 1.8m​Take care surface water is likely to be on the A356 Martock to Crewkerne road.

Gawbridge – Current Level 2.69m, rising. Floods at 2.80m. Flooding may occur  today on Coat Road and Broadmead, as the River level at Gawbridge rises. Hawthorn Hill at the Kingsbury Rhyne culvert flooded, passable with  care.

Long Load ​- Current level in Flood 9.93m, steady. Floods at 9.26m, surface water possible either side of the road bridge.

Witcombe Bottom – Current level in Flood 8.61m steadyFloods at 8.44m.

Ilchester – Current level 2.25m rising, but it is likely to rise as the overnight rain from the catchment area flows downstream.  Floods at 2.90m.

Pen Mill, Yeovil  Current Level 3.41m falling. Floods at 3.34m.

Martock to South Petherton road – ​OPEN, with some surface water , care required and as the River Level at Chiselborough rises the road may flood later today. 

​Stoke Road, Martock – OPEN with surface water, care required, mainly in the derestriction section where one landowner has cleared the road side ditches to prevent soil run off blocking the drains, but another has not, and the grids are blocked. NOT ADVISED for vehicles with a low level air flow intake.  

Coat Road, Coat – OPEN with some surface water on the Coat Road, (Stapleton to Coat), section 50m on the Stapleton side of the old Railway Bridge, passable with care.

Sparrows Corner, B3165, Bower Hinton – OPEN

Foldhill Lane, Martock – 500m from A303, some surface water care required.
