Stoke Road, Martock – Closed
The road has been closed for safety reasons. Flood water is draining off the fields on to the carriageway with surface water causing drivers to travel on the wrong side of the road to avoid the depth of water, which is continuing to increase, owing to the soil ‘run off’ having blocked drains. ‘Main River’ is rising and is likely to overtop this evening causing an increase in the depth of water on the road surface.
The Police and other emergency services have been informed, together with County Highways and local radio.
